New Jersey lottery ticket turns $10K into $100K with Mega Millions multiplier
Trenton, NJ — A routine Mega Millions ticket bought in Hudson County turned into a six-figure payday after a lucky player hit a 10X multiplier, boosting their $10,000 prize to a staggering $100,000 in Tuesday night’s drawing.
The ticket, sold at Big J 99 located at 813 Bergenline Avenue in Union City, matched four out of five white balls plus the Gold Mega Ball. Thanks to the 10X multiplier, included automatically as part of a recent rule change in April, the standard $10,000 prize was catapulted to $100,000.
The winning numbers for the drawing were 02, 18, 27, 34, and 59, with the Gold Mega Ball landing on 18.
While no one claimed the jackpot this round, the Mega Millions grand prize continues to swell and now stands at $680 million for Friday’s draw, making it one of the largest current jackpots in the nation.
The New Jersey Lottery has not yet identified the winner, who now joins a growing list of Garden State players cashing in on enhanced prize opportunities since the Mega Millions game introduced its free multiplier feature earlier this year.
Retailer Big J 99 will also receive a bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
