Man shot in the thigh during overnight gunfire on Ensor Street in East Baltimore

Baltimore, MD — A man was shot in the leg early Monday morning after gunfire erupted on Ensor Street, sending officers racing to the scene following a ShotSpotter alert.

The shooting took place around 3:35 a.m. in the 1800 block of Ensor Street, where responding officers found a 40-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the thigh. The victim was conscious and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The motive for the shooting is currently unknown, and no arrests have been made.

Eastern District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and are leading the investigation. Officials have not released any suspect information or said whether the victim was targeted.
