Woman killed crossing Telegraph Road in Severn after being struck by SUV

Severn, MD – A pedestrian was killed Tuesday evening after she was struck by a Ford Bronco while attempting to cross Telegraph Road in Severn, prompting a crash reconstruction investigation and a search to identify the victim.

At approximately 6:55 p.m., officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District responded to the intersection of northbound Telegraph Road and Denson Drive following a report of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Initial findings revealed that a 2022 Ford Bronco was traveling in the number two northbound lane when a woman began crossing the roadway eastbound from the center median.

According to the driver, a 45-year-old man from Glen Burnie, the pedestrian appeared suddenly in the vehicle’s path and he was unable to stop in time. The SUV struck the woman before coming to a halt. The driver remained on scene and reported no injuries.

Emergency personnel from the Fire Department responded and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The Traffic Safety Crash Reconstruction Team was dispatched to conduct a full investigation, which remains ongoing.
