Baltimore cops bust smoke shops in massive weed raid

Baltimore smoke shop raids net three arrests and 65 pounds of marijuana

Baltimore, MD — A months-long investigation into illegal marijuana sales led to major raids at two Baltimore convenience stores, resulting in three arrests and the seizure of more than 65 pounds of marijuana and over $60,000 in cash, police announced Thursday.

The Baltimore Police Department’s Southeast District Action Team, aided by SWAT, the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office, and the Maryland Alcohol, Tobacco, and Cannabis Commission, executed search and seizure warrants this week at Pulaski Convenient on North Bouldin Street and EMonument Convenience on East Monument Street.

The operation was sparked by a 311 complaint and community tips, prompting investigators to begin undercover surveillance and controlled buys from the targeted locations.

During the execution of the warrants, detectives recovered:

  • Approximately 65 pounds of marijuana
  • 1,113 individually packaged marijuana units
  • 205 vape cartridges
  • $63,500 in U.S. currency

Three individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation:

  • Muslim Ahmed, 22
  • Magdi Elroubat, 33
  • Mohamed Ahmed, 37

All face multiple charges related to drug distribution and illegal possession.

Police credited community cooperation and inter-agency collaboration with helping bring the case to a close, noting that the illegal sale of marijuana at commercial storefronts continues to be a focus of enforcement.
