Burglary suspect wanted after pocketknife robbery at Wyoming Street home
Wilkes-Barre, PA — A forced entry late Tuesday night turned into a brief but frightening home invasion when a man armed with a pocketknife burst into an upstairs bedroom, threatened two residents and walked off with a cell phone and a vape before returning to smash the stolen phone against a wall and flee again.
Officers were called to a Wyoming Street residence at 10:29 p.m. after the victims reported hearing a loud noise below and then seeing a man enter their bedroom brandishing a pocketknife and waving it in a threatening manner. The defendant reportedly took a cell phone and a vape, left the home, then returned shortly afterward and deliberately broke the phone before leaving the area once more.
Responding officers found significant damage to the rear door frame consistent with forced entry. The victims told investigators the suspect does not live at the residence and was not invited inside. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 22-year-old Jermaine Curtis of Wilkes-Barre on burglary and robbery-related charges.
