Fully automatic handgun, heroin, and cocaine seized in Laurel drug raid
LAUREL, MD — A months-long narcotics investigation led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Laurel man after officers executed a search warrant at a home on Old Line Avenue, recovering drugs, a converted firearm, and ammunition.
Officers with the Western District Strategic Patrol Team, alongside detectives and the Quick Response Team, carried out the operation at a residence in the 3300 block of Old Line Avenue. The suspect, identified as Dominique Lamont Garlic, was at the location and taken into custody without incident.
During the search, police recovered a .40 caliber Glock handgun that had been illegally modified with an automatic fire selector device, effectively converting it into a fully automatic weapon. Authorities also seized 21 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, an extended magazine, and a collection of illegal narcotics.
Among the substances recovered were approximately 2.64 grams of suspected heroin, 0.91 grams of suspected cocaine, and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia. The firearm and the presence of suspected distribution-level drugs add to the severity of the charges that Garlic may face.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges could be filed as forensic testing and evidence review continues.
