Subway slasher attacks two men on Queens train platform before fleeing

QUEENS, NY – Two men were slashed in a violent daylight attack on a busy subway platform in Kew Gardens on Wednesday afternoon.

The assaults happened around 3:15 p.m. on the southbound “E” train platform at the Union Turnpike–Kew Gardens station.

An unidentified man approached a 42-year-old commuter from behind and slashed him across the forehead with a sharp object.

Moments later, the same individual turned on a 50-year-old man and slashed him in the face before running off.

Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and took the 42-year-old victim to New York–Presbyterian Queens Hospital, while the 50-year-old was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. Both men were listed in stable condition.

Police seek suspect in all-black outfit

Investigators said the attacker fled the subway station on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and black shoes.

Authorities have not released surveillance images or further identifying details as the investigation remains ongoing.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information to contact the department’s Crime Stoppers hotline or submit tips anonymously online.
