Caught on camera in the dark a suspect wanted for Northeast DC home burglary
Washington, DC – Just before dawn earlier this month, a man slipped into an unoccupied home on 12th Street NE, grabbed stolen items, and vanished — but not before surveillance cameras caught him in the act.
Around 3:48 a.m. on Monday, November 3, the suspect entered a residence in the 300 block of 12th Street, Northeast, while it was empty. After stealing an undisclosed amount of property, he fled the scene before officers could respond.

The Metropolitan Police Department is now turning to the public for assistance. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest and indictment. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling the MPD tip line or texting confidentially.
The video shows the individual moving deliberately through the property during the early-morning break-in. Investigators have not disclosed what items were stolen or whether the home was targeted at random.
The incident remains under investigation as authorities continue to seek leads.
