Police say argument escalated into a violent assault before suspect fled
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are searching for a suspect accused of assaulting two people during a confrontation in Northwest DC, including striking one victim with a tree branch.
The assault occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. on July 22 in the 1300 block of V Street Northwest.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect became involved in an argument with one of the victims before the confrontation turned physical.
During the assault, police said a second victim was struck with a tree branch.
Both victims ran to their homes for safety and called police. They later sought treatment at local hospitals for their injuries.
The suspect fled the area before officers arrived.
Investigators said the suspect was captured on nearby surveillance cameras and are asking for the public’s help identifying the individual.
