Two $1 million Powerball tickets couldn’t top the biggest win of the week

CATONSVILLE, Md. — A Maryland Lottery player is holding a Fast Play ticket worth more than $2.2 million after a Catonsville retailer sold the state’s biggest prize of the week, overshadowing two separate $1 million Powerball wins.

The winning Ultimate Payday Fast Play ticket, worth $2,205,023, was sold July 29 at the Exxon station at 6037 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville.

As of Aug. 3, the jackpot remained unclaimed.

The Ultimate Payday game is a $30 Fast Play ticket featuring a progressive jackpot that starts at $500,000 and grows with each ticket sold until someone wins.

The same week also produced two $1 million Powerball-winning tickets.

One was sold July 28 at Royal Farms, 1558 Annapolis Road in Odenton, while the other was sold July 31 at the 7-Eleven, 8905 Rhode Island Ave. in College Park. Both prizes were unclaimed as of Aug. 3.

Powerball’s jackpot continues to climb after going unclaimed for nearly three months. The next drawing offers an estimated $748 million annuity jackpot, with a cash option of $325.1 million.

According to the Maryland Lottery, 24 tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold statewide during the week of July 27 through Aug. 2. Players claimed more than $28.8 million in lottery prizes during the week.

Two $50,000 scratch-off prizes sold in Baltimore and Elkridge.
A $50,000 Big Win Fast Play ticket sold in Severna Park.

A $20,000 Keno ticket sold in College Park.
A $20,000 scratch-off sold in Owings Mills.
Multiple Pick 5 prizes ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 sold across the state.
