75-year-old woman dies after two-car crash involving Tesla in Northwest Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD – A late-night collision on West Northern Parkway ended in tragedy when a 75-year-old woman died following a crash involving a Tesla and a Nissan on Tuesday night.
The crash happened around 10:05 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Northern Parkway. First responders arrived to find a 2018 Tesla and a 2020 Nissan with significant damage from the impact. The elderly woman, who had been driving the Nissan, was rushed to a nearby hospital by medics but later died from her injuries.
The Tesla was driven by a 31-year-old man who sustained minor injuries. A 7-year-old child who was riding in the Tesla was also taken to the hospital as a precaution but did not appear to be seriously hurt.
Detectives from the department’s Crash Team are now investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision. No preliminary cause has been released.
The area where the crash occurred is a major thoroughfare in Northwest Baltimore, with multiple intersections and steady nighttime traffic.
Police have not yet identified the deceased, pending family notification. There is no word yet on whether charges will be filed in the case.
