Teen shot in hand in broad daylight on Montpelier Street as Eastern District investigates
Baltimore, MD — A 17-year-old male was shot in the hand Friday afternoon in East Baltimore, prompting an active investigation by Eastern District Shooting detectives.
Just after 3:20 p.m. on December 5, officers responded to the 1700 block of Montpelier Street following a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they found the teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand.
The teen was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Eastern District Shooting detectives arrived on scene and took over the investigation. Police have not released details regarding a possible suspect, motive, or whether the teen was the intended target.
The shooting occurred in daylight hours in a residential area, and detectives are asking for any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward.
