Frankford, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested a 24-year-old Bridgeville man after finding heroin and determining he was driving under the influence during a Thursday afternoon traffic stop.
According to investigators, the incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. on December 18 when a trooper patrolling the Cypress Swamp area observed a vehicle that failed to maintain its lane and nearly struck oncoming traffic. The driver, identified as Marcus Massey Jr., was pulled over without incident.
Troopers noted signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests before taking Massey into custody. A search of his person uncovered approximately 4.29 grams of heroin. A computer check also revealed that Massey had three previous DUI convictions.
He was transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with driving under the influence and multiple drug offenses. Massey was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on an $11,503 secured bond.
