Passenger dies after two-car crash on Annapolis Road near BW Parkway
Hyattsville, MD — A woman has died following a two-vehicle collision Friday morning in the unincorporated area of Hyattsville, as Prince George’s County Police continue investigating the cause of the crash.
The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on December 19 in the area of Annapolis Road and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. According to investigators, a vehicle traveling westbound on Annapolis Road crossed into the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons and struck an oncoming car carrying 49-year-old Laura Johnson of Laurel.
Johnson was transported to a hospital along with two other individuals—another passenger and the driver of the vehicle she was in. Although all three were initially reported to have non-life-threatening injuries, Johnson later died at the hospital.
The driver of the westbound vehicle remained at the scene following the crash. No charges have been filed at this time, and the cause of the collision is under active investigation by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact investigators.
