BALTIMORE, MD – A retired Baltimore man is $50,000 richer after hitting big in the Maryland Lottery’s evening Pick 5 drawing—and while he knows money can’t buy happiness, he’s more than ready to “rent a little” of it.
The winner, who claimed his prize on Friday, scored the top payout in the December 16 drawing after purchasing his ticket at Plaza Liquors, located at 5722 Wabash Avenue. The store will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Single, retired, and living in a paid-off home, the longtime city resident plans to tuck away his winnings for a future trip to a warm-weather destination, possibly Hawaii or another cruise.
