BERGENFIELD, N.J. – The Borough of Bergenfield has enacted its Snow Emergency ordinance as a winter storm approaches, prohibiting all on-street parking beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, officials announced.

The Bergenfield Police Department said Ordinance 299-12 will remain in effect until further notice. Under the order, no vehicles are permitted to remain parked on any borough street to allow the Department of Public Works to safely plow and treat the roads.

Officials warned that any vehicles left on the roadway will be subject to summonses or towing. Residents are urged to remove their cars from the streets as soon as possible to assist cleanup crews and ensure emergency access.

The borough thanked residents for their cooperation as crews prepare for potentially hazardous conditions from the incoming snowstorm.
