Police search for man accused of stealing delivered package in Newark
Newark, NJ – A delivered package containing a rug valued at more than $150 was taken from a South 17th Street residence last month, and police are now asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.
The theft occurred Saturday, January 31 at approximately 4:43 p.m. in the 600 block of South 17th Street, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
The victim reported that a male suspect removed the package shortly after it had been delivered. The package contained a rug valued at over $150.
Police said the suspect was wearing a gray peacoat with a light gray hooded sweatshirt underneath and black and white Vans at the time of the incident.
