Officers rushed to Garrison Boulevard after an evening call
BALTIMORE, MD — A call about a man lying in a Baltimore street turned into a homicide investigation Thursday evening after officers discovered the 47-year-old had been shot in the upper body and police later confirmed he died at a hospital.
Baltimore Police officers responded to the 3400 block of Garrison Boulevard at approximately 7:42 p.m. Thursday for what the department described as a “lying-in-the-street” investigation.
When officers arrived, they found the 47-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body, according to police.
The man was transported to an area hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.
Police later announced that the victim had died from his injuries.
Northwest District Shooting detectives responded to Garrison Boulevard and assumed control of the investigation. Following the man’s death, police classified the case as a homicide investigation.
Authorities did not release the victim’s identity in the information provided.
Police also did not announce an arrest or provide information about a possible suspect or what may have led to the shooting.
