Jackson man indicted for murder of NBA star Naz Reid’s sister

Jackson Township, NJ – A 30-year-old Jackson Township man has been indicted by an Ocean County grand jury for the fatal shooting of Toraya Reid, the sister of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Naz Reid, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, Shaquille Green was indicted on charges of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the September 6, 2025, killing in Jackson Township.

Police were called around 11 a.m. that day to the Paragon Apartment Complex on Larsen Road after reports of shots fired and an unresponsive woman in the roadway. Responding officers found Reid, 28, lying near the exit of the complex with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after, officers spotted a man running on North New Prospect Road. The suspect, later identified as Green, was taken into custody without incident and brought to Jackson Township Police Headquarters for questioning.

Investigation points to domestic relationship

Detectives with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Jackson Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit determined that Green and Reid had been in a dating relationship. Investigators later identified Green as the shooter, leading to his arrest and detention in the Ocean County Jail, where he remains pending trial.

“This indictment is the result of tireless investigative work and interagency cooperation,” Prosecutor Billhimer said, crediting Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Heisler for presenting the case to the grand jury.
