NYPD searching for gunman who opened fire inside Bronx apartment building

BRONX, NY – Police are searching for a suspect who fired several gunshots inside a residential building early Friday morning in the vicinity of Buhre Avenue and Mahan Avenue, within the NYPD’s 45th Precinct.

According to investigators, the unidentified individual entered the building around 2:00 a.m. and discharged a firearm multiple times at a door before fleeing the scene on foot, heading eastbound on Buhre Avenue. No injuries were reported, but police say the incident is being treated as reckless endangerment.

Police seek public’s help

Detectives from the NYPD CrimeStoppers unit released an appeal for information Saturday, asking anyone with tips, security footage, or knowledge of the suspect’s identity to contact them directly. The suspect’s motive remains under investigation.

Authorities urge anyone with information to send a direct message to @NYPDTips on social media or call the confidential tip line at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the department’s website.
