Bel Air man claims $828K FAST PLAY jackpot from ticket bought at Royal Farms

Bel Air, MD – A Harford County retiree turned a small lottery purchase into a life-changing payout after winning a progressive jackpot worth $828,616. The prize came from a FAST PLAY ticket purchased last week at a local convenience store.

According to the Maryland Lottery, the Bel Air man initially bought a $5 scratch-off ticket that resulted in a $20 win. He then used the winnings to try a FAST PLAY Super 777 ticket—despite not typically playing that type of game.

The ticket, purchased March 26 at the Royal Farms located at 1601 Churchville Road, ended up delivering the progressive jackpot prize of $828,616.

Winning ticket confirmed after multiple checks

Lottery officials said the winner was unsure at first whether he had actually won after scanning the ticket. Seeking confirmation, he visited another store where a clerk verified the prize and checked the Maryland Lottery website.

“One lucky Bel Air man turned a $5 Lottery purchase into a once-in-a-lifetime payday,” the Maryland Lottery said.

The winner, described as a retired manager, told lottery officials he plans to use the money to pay off his house and car, take a vacation, and invest the remaining funds.

The Royal Farms store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
