Police investigating Harford Road crash involving students from Maryland School for the Blind

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A Baltimore County Public Schools bus transporting students from the Maryland School for the Blind crashed into a commercial building Tuesday afternoon after a car crossed into oncoming traffic, striking the bus and another vehicle, police said.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, in the 7800 block of Harford Road.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department, the driver of a 2017 Ford Focus was traveling southbound when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes.

Investigators said the Ford entered the path of a Baltimore County Public Schools bus that was transporting students from the Maryland School for the Blind.

The Ford also struck a 2014 Nissan Altima during the collision.

Following the impact, the school bus continued forward and came to rest after striking a commercial building in the 8700 block of Harford Road.

Police have not released information regarding injuries or the number of people aboard the bus.

The Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team is investigating the cause of the collision.
