Officer observed alleged trespassing near Queen City Drive, police say

CUMBERLAND, MD — A Cumberland man was cited Wednesday night after a police officer allegedly saw him walking across railroad tracks marked with no-trespassing signs near Queen City Drive, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, when an officer observed an individual crossing the railroad tracks adjacent to Queen City Drive.

Police said the area was clearly posted with “No Trespassing” signs.

The officer stopped the individual and identified him as 26-year-old Matyah Lee Goodman of Cumberland.

According to police, Goodman was advised of the violation and issued a citation for trespassing on railroad property.

After receiving the citation, Goodman was released at the scene pending trial in Maryland District Court.

The charge is an allegation, and Goodman is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
