Maryland lottery explodes with $34 million in prizes in one week

Maryland lottery surge sees $2M winner lead wave of big payouts statewide

Baltimore, MD — A single scratch-off ticket worth $2 million led a surge of lottery wins across Maryland, capping a week that saw dozens of high-value prizes claimed and millions paid out to players statewide.

The Maryland Lottery reported that more than $34.1 million in prizes were distributed between April 6 and April 12, with 56 tickets valued at $10,000 or more sold or claimed during that period.

The largest prize came from a 200X the Cash scratch-off ticket sold at Riggs Grocery on Kenilworth Avenue in Riverdale, delivering a $2 million payout.

Other major wins included a $500,000 scratch-off prize from a ticket sold at a Walmart in Severn and a separate $500,000 Powerball Double Play ticket sold in Largo that remained unclaimed as of Sunday.

Additional prizes ranged from $250,000 in Elkton to multiple $100,000 wins across locations including Adelphi, Halethorpe, and Middle River.

Pick 5 players also recorded a strong showing, with five $50,000 tickets and numerous $25,000 winners sold across the state, some of which had not yet been claimed.

Lottery officials reminded winners to sign their tickets and follow proper claiming procedures. Prizes above $25,000 must be redeemed at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, while smaller prizes can be claimed at authorized retail and casino locations.

The week’s results reflect a broad distribution of winnings across multiple games, including scratch-offs, Powerball, Keno, and Racetrax.
