Fentanyl flood stopped as Boston police bust major drug ring

Boston, MA — A months-long investigation into a drug trafficking network ended with a sweeping raid that uncovered large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, along with cash and equipment tied to distribution operations.

The operation, carried out Friday, involved Boston Police Drug Control Units working alongside Randolph Police and federal partners. Authorities executed multiple search warrants targeting a suspected distribution network operating out of Dorchester and Randolph.

Investigators identified 26-year-old Ricky Mendez-Feliz of Boston as a central figure in the operation, which focused on the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine across the city. Surveillance and investigative techniques, including GPS tracking, linked him to both a primary location on Stanwood Street in Dorchester and a secondary stash site in Randolph.

Mendez-Feliz was arrested during a vehicle stop after leaving the Randolph location. Officers then executed coordinated search warrants at multiple addresses.

At a Dorchester residence, officers conducted a forced entry and detained a second suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ronfi Heredia-Valdez, who had been seen entering and exiting the location prior to the raid.

A separate but related operation at another Stanwood Street address led to the recovery of additional narcotics, a firearm, ammunition, and a large pill press. That investigation remains ongoing.

Across all locations, authorities seized approximately 3,129 grams of fentanyl, along with smaller quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine. Investigators also recovered cash, jewelry, a vehicle, drug packaging equipment, and a ledger.

Mendez-Feliz faces charges related to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, while Heredia-Valdez is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
