BB gun scare at Pennsylvania middle school sparks swift response from staff
Bensalem, PA — A report from a student about a possible weapon inside a middle school led to a rapid response from staff and police, ending with the safe removal of what was later identified as a BB gun.
The incident occurred Friday, April 24 at Shafer Middle School when a student alerted administrators after seeing another student lift his shirt and reveal what appeared to be a firearm in his waistband.
School officials immediately contacted the School Resource Officer and additional police units. An administrator quickly located the student and safely removed the item, which was determined to be a BB gun.
Further investigation revealed that a second student was involved in bringing the BB gun onto school grounds.
No injuries were reported. School officials said disciplinary action will be handled internally, and no identities have been released.
