Elmhurst player lands $50K Powerball prize after latest drawing

ELMHURST, N.Y. — A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Queens for the May 11 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

Lottery officials said the third-prize-winning ticket was sold at Rubex Drugs Inc., located at 81-19 41st Ave. in Elmhurst.

The winning ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball during the Monday night drawing.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

The game features five white balls drawn from a field of one to 69 and one red Powerball selected from a separate field of one to 26.

The New York Lottery said it remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6 billion during fiscal year 2024-2025 to support public schools across the state.
