Police released video of the driver accused of fleeing after a collision on Georgia Avenue

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of fleeing the scene after a collision along one of Northwest Washington’s busiest roadways earlier this month.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened May 6 in the 2000 block of Georgia Avenue Northwest.

Investigators said the suspect left the scene after the collision and is now wanted as part of an active investigation.

MPD released surveillance video Friday showing the suspect connected to the case as detectives work to identify the individual involved.

Authorities have not released details about injuries or the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information related to the incident to come forward.
