Homicide detectives investigate early morning killing
BALTIMORE, MD — A burst of gunfire before sunrise left one person dead in a Baltimore County neighborhood Tuesday morning, prompting homicide detectives to launch an investigation into the fatal shooting.
Officers responded at approximately 1 a.m. to the 8500 block of Chestnut Oak Road after receiving reports of shots fired, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the victim’s identity or disclosed whether a suspect has been identified.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
