CUMBERLAND, MD – The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after multiple dirt bikes and ATVs were stolen early Friday morning in the Midlothian and Frostburg area. Deputies say the burglary occurred between approximately 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., prompting an ongoing investigation and a release of images tied to the case.
According to the sheriff’s office, at least one of the stolen dirt bikes has since been recovered along Midlothian Road. Officials also released a photo of a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to the incident.
Stolen vehicles and investigation details
The sheriff’s office identified the stolen vehicles as a Yamaha YZ250X, Honda CRF50, Honda TRX250, KTM 50sx, Yamaha TTR 230, and a Kawasaki Elektrode. Authorities have not said how many suspects may be involved or whether additional recoveries have been made beyond the single dirt bike found.
“We are releasing a photo of the suspect vehicle, along with a photo of one of the stolen dirt bikes that has since been recovered along Midlothian Road,” the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Officials are urging residents in the Midlothian and Frostburg areas to review any available surveillance footage from the early morning hours when the theft occurred.
Call for community assistance
Investigators are specifically asking for security camera, doorbell, and dash camera footage, as well as any reports of suspicious activity during the timeframe of the burglary. The sheriff’s office emphasized that even minor details could prove critical to the case.
“If you or anyone you know has any information regarding this incident, has security camera footage, doorbell camera video, dash camera footage, or observed suspicious activity in the area during the time of the theft, please contact the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office at 301-777-1585,” the agency said.

The investigation remains active as deputies continue to track leads and review evidence tied to the burglary.
