Shelter and rescue partners seek foster home for 1-year-old Murphy
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A young black Labrador Retriever is searching for a family willing to open their home after arriving at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility as a stray.
Friends of the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility is asking for a committed foster or rescue placement for Murphy, an approximately 1-year-old black Labrador Retriever described as energetic, friendly and eager to learn.
According to the organization, Murphy has passed all of his behavioral assessments, showed no signs of resource guarding and gets along with other dogs. While he paid little attention to cats during his time at the shelter, staff said they do not know whether he has ever lived with cats.
Shelter volunteers say Murphy has plenty of energy but needs basic training, leash work and manners after spending much of his young life without guidance.
Rescue partners are ready to help Murphy leave the shelter once a committed foster home is secured. Because of his energy level, the organization is seeking a home without young children.
