Small business owner scratched the ticket walking back to her car and handed it to her husband

ANNAPOLIS, MD – An Annapolis small business owner turned a quick 7-Eleven stop into a $200,000 payday after spending $10 on a Ravens X10 scratch-off, then discovering the top-prize ticket with her husband waiting in the car.

The woman, who was not identified by the Maryland Lottery, purchased the ticket at the 7-Eleven at 1527 Forest Drive in Annapolis.

She told Lottery officials that her husband is usually the more frequent player, but this time she decided to try the $10 Ravens X10 game herself.

Scratch-off surprise unfolds in the parking lot

The woman began scratching the ticket while walking back to the car, where her husband was waiting.

She had finished by the time she got inside but was not certain whether the ticket had won anything.

She handed it to her husband to check.

He spotted a football symbol and realized the ticket was a winner.

The couple learned they had landed the game’s $200,000 top prize.

They claimed the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters Friday with both present.

Family has plans for $200K prize

The couple has two young daughters and told Lottery officials they plan to put the money toward paying off their home and spending more time with their family.

The prize is the first $200,000 top prize claimed since Ravens X10 launched in July.

Three more $200,000 top prizes remain in the game, according to the Maryland Lottery. Four $50,000 prizes and nine $10,000 prizes also remained unclaimed at the time of the announcement.

The Annapolis 7-Eleven will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the $200,000 ticket.
