Father-daughter Lottery team plans to pay bills, invest and celebrate with a trip to West Africa
BALTIMORE, MD – A Baltimore father and daughter accustomed to celebrating Lottery wins of $50 or $100 suddenly had a much bigger reason to celebrate after the daughter scratched her way to a $100,000 prize on a $10 ticket.
The pair regularly plays the Maryland Lottery together and has picked up occasional smaller prizes, according to the Maryland Lottery.
This time, a Rose Gold scratch-off changed the size of their usual payday.
The daughter landed a $100,000 prize on the $10 instant ticket.
She and her father went to Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore on Wednesday to claim the prize.
Despite the size of the win, Lottery officials described the pair as business-like while collecting the money.
The daughter already has plans for part of her winnings.
After paying bills, she plans to travel to Côte d’Ivoire, the West African country also known as Ivory Coast.
The father and daughter also plan to explore investments as they look toward saving money for the future.
Their $100,000 win will not end their Lottery routine, either. The pair told Lottery officials they intend to continue playing.
The winning Rose Gold ticket was purchased at Sunoco Plus at 4719 York Road in Baltimore.
The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the $100,000 winning scratch-off.
For a father and daughter used to celebrating wins measured in double and triple digits, one $10 Rose Gold ticket delivered a six-figure surprise.
