BROOKLYN, N.Y. – A Powerball ticket sold in Brooklyn scored a $50,000 third prize in Saturday night’s drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket for the Aug. 29 drawing was purchased at Flatbush Food & Disc Store, located at 1116 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. The New York Lottery announced the winning location Monday.

The ticket matched enough numbers to capture Powerball’s $50,000 third prize. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

$50K Powerball Prize Lands on Flatbush Avenue

The New York Lottery identified Flatbush Food & Disc Store as the retailer that sold the $50,000 ticket. The store is on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.

“One third-prize-winning ticket was sold for the Aug 29 Powerball drawing,” the New York Lottery said in its announcement.

Powerball’s white-ball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 through 69, while the red Powerball is selected separately from a field of 1 through 26.

The New York Lottery did not provide additional information about the ticket in its announcement.

Powerball Drawings Held Three Nights a Week

Powerball drawings are televised at 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, giving players three chances each week to compete for prizes.

The New York Lottery said it contributed $3.6 billion during fiscal year 2025-26 to support public schools across New York State.
