TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey Lottery players went on a serious winning streak last week, with 19 draw-game and Scratch-Off prizes worth at least $10,000 landing across the state from Aug. 24 through Aug. 30.
The monster score came Sunday, Aug. 24, when a Jersey Cash 5 ticket hit for $2,975,145. The winning ticket was purchased through Jackpocket, an authorized lottery courier, according to the New Jersey Lottery.
But the nearly $3 million jackpot was far from the week’s only big hit. A $600,000 Crossword Xtreme Scratch-Off landed in Cherry Hill, a $500,000 Winter Ice ticket was sold in Irvington, and another Crossword Bonanza ticket delivered $400,000 in Passaic.

Nearly $3M Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot Leads a Huge Week
The $2,975,145 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot dwarfed the rest of the week’s prizes. Because the ticket was purchased through Jackpocket rather than at a traditional store, the Lottery’s weekly prize list does not identify a retail location, town or county for the jackpot ticket.
The seven-figure score follows a string of substantial Jersey Cash 5 wins this summer. In July, Shore News Network reported that another New Jersey Lottery winning streak included a Jersey Cash 5 jackpot worth more than $2.3 million.
The next-largest prize last week came Friday, Aug. 28, when a Crossword Xtreme Scratch-Off sold at Wawa #8325, 50 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill, won $600,000. The New Jersey Lottery confirmed the winning ticket was sold at that location, and two $600,000 top prizes remained in the game as of Monday afternoon.
Another major Scratch-Off hit came Saturday, Aug. 29. A Winter Ice ticket worth $500,000 was sold at Gold Key Liquor & Grocery, 1117 Grove Street in Irvington, according to the Lottery’s weekly prize list supplied for the report.
Passaic also landed a major Friday payday. A Crossword Bonanza ticket worth $400,000 was sold at Lu-Lu’s Newsstand LLC, 705 Main Avenue.
$200K Prizes Hit Middlesex County Twice
Middlesex County produced two separate $200,000 prizes during the week.
On Tuesday, Aug. 25, a Cash Money ticket worth $200,000 was sold at ShopRite #592, 6781 Hadley Road in South Plainfield. Three days later, a $500 Cash Craze ticket worth another $200,000 was sold at Krauszer’s, 93 Woodbridge Avenue in Highland Park.
Jersey Cash 5 also produced a pair of $80,000 prizes on Wednesday, Aug. 26. One was sold at 7-Eleven #36882, 203 Darling Avenue in Nutley, while the other came from Quick Stop Food Store, 1665 Stelton Road in Piscataway.
The week’s $50,000 prizes included a Powerball ticket sold at Addison Shop, 268 Park Avenue in Rutherford, and a Super Crossword Scratch-Off from Akar Exxon, 855 South Orange Avenue in East Orange.
Lower on the list — but still worth five figures — were prizes ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 in Manchester, Lodi, Orange, Clifton, Jefferson Township and Paterson.
Ocean County Lands Another Pair of Five-Figure Wins
Ocean County was represented by two prizes during the Aug. 24-30 period.
A $1 Million Premier Ca$h Scratch-Off worth $10,000 was sold at Quick Chek #102, 3001 Ridgeway Road in Manchester. The week began after two additional Ocean County prizes appeared on the Lottery’s Aug. 23 list: a $25,000 Crossword Bonanza ticket in Lanoka Harbor and a $10,000 Jackpot Millions ticket in Point Pleasant Beach.
The Point Pleasant Beach prize was sold at Country Farms, 500 Washington Avenue, Suite 1. Shore News Network previously reported on the Jersey Shore convenience store’s Jackpot Millions win.
The statewide list shows the week’s sizable prizes were spread across Bergen, Camden, Essex, Middlesex, Ocean and Passaic counties, along with the jackpot purchased through the courier.
