MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – A 54-year-old man was killed early Friday when his Maserati rolled over multiple times following a collision on South Black Horse Pike in Monroe Township, according to police.
Monroe Township Police responded at approximately 12:06 a.m. to the area of South Black Horse Pike, also known as U.S. 322, and East Malaga Road. Police said a white Maserati driven by the Franklin Township man was traveling west when it collided with a red Toyota that had entered the highway from Walmart.
- The 54-year-old Maserati driver was ejected during the rollover and pronounced dead at the scene.
- The driver and passenger in the Toyota were taken to Cooper Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
- Police are investigating the collision and are asking witnesses to contact the department.
Maserati Rolled Over Multiple Times After Collision
According to the Monroe Township Police Department, the Toyota was driven by a 33-year-old Woodstown man who was exiting Walmart onto South Black Horse Pike.
“The Toyota entered the S. Black Horse Pike and merged into the lane of travel and initiated a lane change into the inside westbound lane of travel,” police said.
Investigators said the front of the westbound Maserati then struck the rear of the Toyota.
“The force and direction of impact caused the Maserati to roll over numerous times, ejecting the driver from the vehicle,” police said.
Police officers and emergency personnel attempted to save the Maserati driver, but his injuries proved fatal.
“Despite lifesaving efforts by police and emergency personnel, the driver of the Maserati succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene,” the department said.
Police did not release the driver’s name in the initial announcement.
Two People in Toyota Taken to Cooper Trauma Center
The Toyota’s driver and a passenger were both transported to Cooper Trauma Center. Police described their injuries as non-life-threatening.
The fatal traffic accident remains under investigation by Sgt. John Van Leer of the Monroe Township Police Traffic Safety Bureau.
Authorities have not announced any charges or citations in connection with the crash. The department’s account describes the vehicles’ movements before impact but does not state that investigators have reached a final determination about fault.
Williamstown Fire Company, Cecil Fire Company, Gloucester County EMS, Inspira Paramedics and A Jacks Towing and Recovery assisted police at the scene.
Police Seek Witnesses to Black Horse Pike Crash

The crash remains under investigation under case number 26-36533.
The Maserati driver died at the scene.
