2,827 New COVID-19 Cases in Arkansas, 31 Deaths Announced

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson provided today’s update on Arkansas’s COVID-19 response.

In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 2,827 new cases; 18,032 active cases; 1,041 hospitalized, which is down 31 from Thursday; 191 on ventilators, which is up 1 from Thursday; deaths added today, 31, for a total of 2,586; a total of 167,137 cases; 128,911 recoveries; PCR tests, 13,451; antigen tests, 2,701.

The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Washington, 260; Benton, 228; Pulaski, 210; Craighead, 146; and Saline, 117.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“Yesterday saw another record day of new cases. We also lost 31 Arkansans yesterday to COVID-19. We are at a critical point in combating this virus as we continue to see record numbers of new cases each day. This battle will not be won by the actions of a few; it will take each Arkansan doing our part to win this fight.”
