Matthew J. Carpenter, 30, of Cape Canaveral, was taken into custody Tuesday evening, May 11, for allegedly entering La Catrina Mexican Restaurant, 315 W. Cocoa Beach Cswy., on the morning of April 7, at about 5:15 A.M., and stealing over $11,000 in cash, electronic equipment, and other miscellaneous items.
Cocoa Beach Police identified Carpenter on the restaurant surveillance video following the incident. Officer Ryan Meehan and Detective Joe Smith developed further evidence to solidify the case. Carpenter was charged with Burglary and Grand Theft, and transported to the county jail.
