by Charlie Dwyer

SCHENECTADY, NY – On Saturday, officers from the Schenectady Police Department responded to an unattended death in the City’s Stockade Neighborhood. The cause of death, initially unclear, was later believed to be drug intoxication following an autopsy, and it’s now considered an overdose.

This case was the eighth suspected fatal overdose recorded between Saturday, July 1 and Saturday, July 8.

The Schenectady Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit continues to investigate the cases and asked for any related information via their Tips Line at 518-788-6566.

Over 70 individuals have so far sought help from the police department under the Schenectady Cares Program.
