HARRISBURG – Attorney General Michelle Henry confirmed the sentencing of Mark Garris, a former school bus driver, for attempting to engage in illicit activities with a purported 15-year-old via social media.

Garris, a 47-year-old from Westmoreland County, was sentenced on Thursday in Butler County Court to 4 to 8 years in prison, followed by 8 years of probation.

He will also be required to register for life under SORNA.

The investigation, spearheaded by the Office of Attorney General, unveiled Garris’s intentions as he chatted with and arranged to meet the minor, unaware he was communicating with an undercover officer.

Garris was arrested upon arriving at the pre-determined meeting spot.
