ALEXANDRIA, VA – Using License Plate Reader technology, Alexandria Police arrested the driver of a stolen vehicle, who was also a wanted fugitive from Wisconsin.

The arrest occurred on September 15, at approximately 5:05 p.m., when officers from the Alexandria Police Department’s Community Assistance Safety Team located and apprehended 38-year-old Dustin Bone of Oneida, Wisconsin, without incident.

Bone had escaped from Sanger B. Powers Correctional Center in Oneida on September 11. “This arrest is a great example of how we use the newest technology tools in our continued effort to keep our community safe,” stated Alexandria Police Chief Don Hayes.

In 2016, Bone was convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to seven years in state prison. He was about two months away from being released.

He is currently being held at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center.
