WILMINGTON, NC – A juvenile has been charged with first-degree murder by the Wilmington Police Department after officers conducted a welfare check in the 3000 block of Adirondack Way shortly before 11 a.m. last Sunday.

Upon entering the apartment due to a lack of response, officers discovered 34-year-old Adriana Hall, who had succumbed to a gunshot wound.

The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 17-year-old male relative of Hall. In addition to the murder charge, he faces charges of armed robbery and auto larceny.

The Wilmington Police Department highlighted the prevalence of domestic violence, noting that five out of the nine homicides this year in Wilmington were related to such incidents.

The department ask victims to reach out to the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services at 910-343-0703 or visit their website for assistance.
