Ephrata Woman Intentionally Set Apartment Fire That Displaced 20 People

EPHRATA, PA – The Ephrata Police Department has charged Savanna A. Parsons, a 30-year-old resident of Ephrata, with multiple counts of arson following a fire on August 8, at an apartment building on 526 E. Main St.

The charges include Arson Endangering Persons and Aggravated Arson.

Parsons, who was alone in her apartment when the fire started, admitted to having rubbing alcohol and a lighter on her bed, where the fire originated.

The incident led to the displacement of 20 residents from 12 apartments. One juvenile was hospitalized for smoke inhalation treatment.

Following her arraignment before MDJ Russell, Parsons, who failed to post the $200,000 bail, was committed to Lancaster County Prison. She remains presumed innocent until proven guilty. The arrest occurred on Thursday.
