Man Plummets To Death From Building While Fleeing Police

WILKES-BARRE, PA – A death investigation is underway in Wilkes-Barre following a distressing incident on July 5, 2023. The Wilkes-Barre Police were called to 300 Park Ave to assist a State Constable who was serving an eviction notice.

Upon arrival, officers were informed by the constable that he had been assaulted by a male occupant of the apartment, who used a chemical spray against him. The male subject refused to allow officers entry and did not comply with their directives. In a subsequent attempt to evade the officers, the subject exited the building through a window and fell several stories to the ground.

Paramedics responded to the scene and provided emergency treatment. However, the male subject succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The Pennsylvania State Police Forensics Unit, Wilkes-Barre Barracks, secured and processed the scene.
