Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Linden Under Investigation

LINDEN, NJ – A tragic motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian occurred on the evening of last night in Linden. The Linden Police Department responded to the incident at the intersection of W. Edgar Road (Route 1) and S. Wood Avenue around 6:49 p.m.

A 78-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman from Old Bridge were traveling southbound on Route 1 in a 2019 Volkswagen when they struck a pedestrian crossing the highway. The pedestrian, a 60-year-old man from Linden, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
