Fatal Hit-and-Run in Cheverly Under Investigation by PGPD

CHEVERLY, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on January 1 in the unincorporated area of Cheverly.

The incident was reported around 8:45 PM, when patrol officers responded to a call at the intersection of Landover Road and Neighbor Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult male in the roadway, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial findings suggest that an unidentified vehicle, heading northbound on Landover Road, struck the pedestrian. The driver involved in the incident did not remain at the scene. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased pedestrian for family notification, as well as to determine the make and model of the vehicle involved.
