Stabbing on Southbound “R” Train Near Queens Plaza

NEW YORK – A 36-year-old man was stabbed in the left leg while aboard a southbound “R” train approaching Queens Plaza. The incident took place on Wednesday, January 10, at around 7:30 PM.

The assailant, described as a male in his 20s with a dark complexion, attempted to converse with the victim before the attack. After stabbing the victim, the individual fled the station on foot. The direction of his escape remains unknown. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored vest jacket, a red hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and sneakers that are white and dark in color.

The victim was privately transported to Staten Island North University Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

The New York Police Department is conducting an investigation into the assault and is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the assailant. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local authorities.
