GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Friday, two officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department, Ptl. Gregory Flynn and Ptl. Zachary Blome, were deployed for the U.S. Central Command’s Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve.
Flynn, holding the rank of First Sergeant, and Blome, a Sergeant, both serve in the 1st Battalion – 114th Infantry Regiment of the New Jersey Army National Guard headquartered in Woodbury, NJ.
The deployment is part of the largest mobilization of New Jersey Army National Guard Soldiers since 2008, involving approximately 1,500 soldiers from the U.S. Army 44th Brigade Combat Team.
Chief David Harkins and the Gloucester Township Police Department expressed pride and commitment to support the families of the deployed officers.
The department provided a “battle flag” to Flynn and Blome as a reminder of their inclusion in the Gloucester Township Police family.
