WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has announced a significant development in a murder investigation dating back to 2022. A man has been taken into custody for a fatal stabbing that shook the Northeast community.
Christian Wilkerson, a 21-year-old from Northwest, D.C., was arrested in Virginia Beach, Virginia, by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. The arrest occurred on March 1, following a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder while Armed in the death of 20-year-old Rashawn Phifer.
The tragic incident unfolded on the evening of November 11, 2022, when police were called to the 500 block of Riggs Road, Northeast, and discovered Phifer with fatal stab wounds.
