WASHINGTON, DC — Late-night gunfire in Northwest Washington has led to the arrest of two teenagers, as reported by the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Fourth District.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday when officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Delafield Place, Northwest, following reports of a burglary and gunfire. Upon arrival, they encountered two 14-year-old males, one of whom was armed with a shotgun. Both individuals were apprehended without incident, and an investigation confirmed the firearm had been discharged.
Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as a result of the gunfire.
The arrested teens, both residents of Northwest, D.C., are facing serious charges. The charges include Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm for one teen and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm for the other. Additionally, one of the teens has been linked to a robbery that occurred on February 27 in the 6300 block of 5th Street, Northwest, further complicating the case.
